New multi-touch tablet, notebook computer debut

HP announced two new mobile computing products for classroom use that meet the budgetary requirements of schools and districts.

The HP Slate 2 Tablet PC offers multi-touch gesture technology and the new Swype keyboard, which allows data to be entered via one continuous finger or stylus motion across the screen. The HP Slate Digital Pen also allows users to write directly on the screen and save notes in their own handwriting. The HP Slate 2 starts at $699.

Also announced today is the HP 3115m, which offers up to 11.5 hours of battery life, flexible wireless capabilities, an 11.6-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD display, Beats Audio™ and a high-definition (HD) webcam. The HP 3115m starts at $429.
