LMS Adds Mastery Assessment

Schoology today announced the ability to measure student mastery of learning outcomes and standards within its learning management system (LMS). This enhancement to the Enterprise version of Schoology allows it to measure and quantify student learning over time using any learning object (quizzes, homework, projects, and test items) that is aligned to outcomes.

For K-12 educators, Schoology comes pre-loaded with state and Common Core standards, while custom learning outcomes can be added at any time.

The new feature highlights include:

• Flexibility to set baselines for mastery achievement and repetition
• Ability to measure concept mastery progression over time
• Learning analytics to evaluate performance and a student’s ability to replicate performance
• Reports and analytics by standard or by individual student, or across a range of competencies for an entire class
