Today's Newsletter: The Best of Edtech Weekend Reading

A couple of terrific big picture pieces were floating through the Tech&Learning news feeds this weekend. My favorite comes from Soraya Shockley at Youth Radio who writes about edtech from the student perspective. My favorite line: “Remember when a TI-84 was the most technologically advanced tool in the classroom? I don’t!” Then there is this sobering yet realistic commentary by Kentaro Toyama in The Chronicle of Higher Education: “The real obstacle in education remains student motivation. Especially in an age of informational abundance, getting access to knowledge isn’t the bottleneck, mustering the will to master it is.” What did you read this weekend?
