Edtech continues to be a Silicon Valley darling even though it is still hard to find many of these technologies at work in a classroom. Six Startups last week won the "Learning Innovation Hub (iHub) Pitch Games,' according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Modeled after the TV show “Shark Tank,” 11 contestants faced questions and critiques as to their product or service. The innovation isn’t restricted to the Bay Area. This EdSurge piece profiles the work of Zaya Learning Labs in Mumbai, India. They consult with schools to integrate a simple blended learning model using low-cost technology, existing qualified teachers, and lower-skilled teaching assistants. All great stuff. I just worry that any of it can ever be shoehorned into the antiquated school district system here in the States. —Kevin Hogan, Content Director
