Four U.S. schools chosen to join innovators

Four U.S. schools have been selected to participate in Microsoft’s Innovative Schools program this year. The program connects educators from around the world to share ideas and best practices for creating new learning models and inspiring students.

Joining a global community of 80 schools in 46 countries, the U.S. schools selected as “Pathfinder” schools/districts are:

•Lake Washington School District, Redmond, Wash.
•Jane Long Middle School, Houston, Texas
•School of the Future, Philadelphia, Penn.
•High Tech Early College and the Denver School District, Denver, Colo.

These schools were chosen because they have a strong vision for implementing change and technology into the learning environment. During the year, the schools will receive support and expertise from educational experts, Microsoft, and participating “Mentor” schools (leading-edge schools focused on innovative teaching, who will share their expertise).
