Get On the Map: National Innovative School/District Locator Launched

Epiced.org, a US Department of Education supported online community of practice, launched its School/District Locator today. This visual database tool creates networking opportunities for schools and districts engaged in digital learning transitions.

"Districts now, more than ever, need to openly share ideas, information and resources to help identify and learn from other innovative schools and school leaders," said Keith Krueger, CEO ofthe Consortium for School Networking. "The School/District Locator tool is a valuable addition to Epic-ed that will link educators across the country."

Innovative schools and districts are invited to use Google Maps pinning technology to place themselves on the School/District Locator. Each school and district map pin links to a profile display, highlighting the nature of the technology-enabled learning initiative (Bring Your Own Device/Bring Your Own Technology (BYOD/BYOT), Classroom or Grade Level Implementation, Learning Management System (LMS) supported, etc.) and other key information including goals, success metrics and challenges.

The goal for this initiative is a comprehensive, national database of schools in different stages of digital resource deployment and development. To enter your school, visit https://www.epiced.org/epic-schools.
