Good PD Practice: Recognize your outstanding tech educators

Tech & Learning magazine recently named three educators as winners in its 24th annual Leader of the Year program. Sixteen additional educators were chosen as runners-up. These visionaries exemplified extraordinary education technology leadership, often working within budgetary restrictions and limited resources. Recognizing your team’s achievements can only increase productivity. Think about these tips to spark excitement:

  • Is there an educator in your school that has gone over and above where technology is concerned?
  • Has a particular tech integration method sparked curriculum to better student achievement?
  • Encourage educators to aspire to do more with tech integration; offer an incentive to those who excel and have a leader of the year in your school.
  • What about 1:1 initiatives - have your educators exceeded expectations?

One of the runners-up in Tech & Learning magazine’s Leader of the Year program is Mark Diehl, the district technology coordinator of Little Falls Community Schools in Minnesota. Diehl was nominated for his efforts in the district’s iPad initiative. Learn more about his story here.
