Kentucky Selects Provider of PD and Common Core Resources

The Kentucky Department of Education has chosen School Improvement Network to provide professional development and Common Core implementation resources to public educators across the state. Under this partnership, all of Kentucky’s 52,000 educators will gain access to School Improvement Network’s PD 360, Common Core 360, and Heidi Hayes Jacobs’ “Mapping to the Core” on the LiveBook 360 platform.

PD 360 is a research-based, on-demand professional learning platform that hosts a library of over 2,000 video segments on 125 educational topics, and is home to an online professional learning community with nearly a million verified educators.

Common Core 360 helps teachers master and implement the new Common Core State Standards with tutorials and real classroom examples of teachers in states across the country teaching the Standards. Together with Heidi Hayes Jacobs’ “Mapping to the Core” on the LiveBook 360 platform, Kentucky educators will have comprehensive resources to help ensure all of Kentucky’s more than 645,000 students will be proficient in the standards and master the skills necessary to be college and career ready.

“This partnership with School Improvement Network will further our vision of an effective teacher in every classroom, an effective leader in every school, and students who are college and career ready,” said Kentucky Education Commissioner Terry Holiday. “This is an essential component of Kentucky’s commitment to raise the quality of education across the state.”

School Improvement Network’s professional development and teacher effectiveness resources will be available as part of Kentucky’s Continuous Instructional Improvement Technology System.
