Epson, the number-one selling projector brand worldwide, today introduced the BrightLink™455Wi-T, a bundle combining the Epson® BrightLink 455Wi interactive projector and a table mount from Copernicus Education Products, to turn almost any tabletop into an interactive learning area. With the included table mount, the BrightLink 455Wi creates an interactive space up to 60-inches diagonal and allows for collaborative working environments or interactive lessons, while providing greater accessibility for younger users or people using wheelchairs.

“The BrightLink 455Wi projector and table mount bundle offers an easy and affordable way to bring collaboration and flexibility to users working in a variety of applications ranging from hospitality and design to student-centered, project-based learning,” said Claudine Wolas-Shiva, senior product manager, Epson America, Inc. “As the use of interactive tables continues to grow, the BrightLink 455Wi-T provides a cost effective solution compared to the many specialized monitors and tables available today, while providing a larger workspace.”

The BrightLink 455Wi-T high-performance projector + pen combination integrates interactive functionality in one machine. The interactive projector is an ultra-short throw solution and offers users image size flexibility and multiple options to project onto a whiteboard, wall, table, or other smooth, light-colored, hard surface. BrightLink offers installation flexibility by providing a wide range of XGA and WXGA usable interactive areas, and features 2,500 lumens color and white light output2 and native WXGA resolution (16:10 aspect ratio) for full compatibility with widescreen notebooks and visual content.

Epson BrightLink Interactive Projectors Now To Be Bundled Worldwide with SMART Notebook Software

It is now easier than ever for educators to obtain the world’s leading collaborative learning software along with market leading collaborative displays.  Epson, the number-one projector manufacturer in the world1, and SMART Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: SMT) (TSX: SMA), a leading global provider of collaboration solutions, today announced an agreement where SMART Notebook® collaborative learning software will now be included with Epson BrightLink® interactive projectors worldwide.

Product: Epson Brightlink 450WI

Epson’s BrightLink 450Wi is an intelligent projector that allows educators to turn any standard whiteboard or smooth wall into an interactive-learning area. This enables educators to easily integrate interactive capabilities and eliminates the need to purchase and install dedicated interactive whiteboards. The ultra-short-throw Epson BrightLink 450Wi interactive projector comes with two digital infrared pens and wall-mount hardware for easy installation.PROS: The BrightLink 450Wi has all the functionality of an interactive whiteboard without the cost or trouble of mounting an IWB. The projector can be permanently mounted as close as 2.8 inches to the wall. It is easy to set up, and the controls are well defined. Because of the USB plug-and-play, there is no need to use a VGA cable to project when using a Windows PC or Mac. The BrightLink 450Wi projects in native wide-screen aspect ratio as well as 4:3 aspect ratio. The built-in microphone input for voice amplification is good for narrating presentations.CONS: It would be nice if this projector included auto keystone adjustment, as found in other Epson projectors (users can adjust keystone manually). The built-in speakers may not amplify enough for all locations. Users must use the pen to manipulate objects, versus the finger-touch technology found in some IWBs.OVERALL EVALUATION: In addition to providing the functionality of an IWB, the BrightLink 450Wi projects an image larger than that of most IWBs. The variety of inputs and the clarity of the controls make the product an excellent choice for any school looking for an ultra-short-throw projector with interactive functionality.www.epson.com/brightlinkRetail price: less than $2,000—Joe Huber
