Put to the Test: MicroSaver DS Keyed Ultra-Thin Notebook Lock

Put to the Test: MicroSaver DS Keyed Ultra-Thin Notebook Lock

The Kensington Microsaver DS Keyed Ultra-Thin Notebook Lock features a T-bar locking mechanism for theft protection. The carbon steel cable provides greater security with a 10%-thinner design. A rotating head and pivoting cable allows educators to easily connect the lock to ultra-thin notebooks and position the lock.

Pros: Securely locks ultra thin notebooks to desks. The lock rotates 360 degrees and attaches via the Kensington security slot found in 99% of notebooks. Good for increased security in school environments.

Cons: If used on all notebooks on a mobile cart, the locks would decrease the loss of computers while in storage, but would increase the time to distribute computers in class. One way around this is to only lock the notebooks while in storage.

Overall evaluation: This lock is ideal for computer labs. In 1:1 environments; students can use these locks to keep their notebooks safe.
