Three Pennsylvania Districts Adopt School Business Suite

Three school districts in Montgomery County have recently selected the School Business Suite from Skyward, a K-12 school administrative software provider, to manage daily business activities within their districts. With the addition of Upper Merion Area School District, Colonial School District and Central Montco Technical High School, there are now 41 Pennsylvania districts that use the Skyward School Management System.

Skyward offers an integrated finance and human resource software package that allows the districts to manage annual budgets, employee pay, time off and more from a centralized database.

Steve Skrocki, business administrator for Upper Merion Area School District, who oversees an annual budget of $78.7 million that assists about 600 full-time employees and nearly 3,900 students, said Skyward’s School Business Suite will greatly increase efficiencies in the district’s everyday business operations. “Our main objective in conducting the search was to identify a product that we felt could enhance internal efficiencies by a tremendous amount,” he said, “And that’s what we’ve received with Skyward.”

According to Trevor Jackson, business administrator for Colonial School District, Skyward’s School Business Suite will play an integral role in its business operations as well. “We are looking forward to having the ability to write reports quickly,” he said. “Additionally, our district will benefit from the efficiency in retrieving and analyzing data,” says Jackson.

While searching for a new software system, all three districts that chose Skyward made it a priority to purchase the same software provider so they could easily exchange best practices on implementation and use. “This is pretty exciting,” said Skrocki. “Having three local districts that can rely on each other for sharing information and planning strategies is a huge plus.”
