A great problem-solving and probability game for middle-school and early high-school students. Print out the grid or draw it on paper, find twelve counters and two ordinary dice, and from the rolling of the dice, see which counter reaches the end of its row first. Provided with this math enrichment task are detailed teachers’ notes that pose different ways of presenting this exercise, extensions for further enrichment, and key questions to be addressed by the students in exploring experimental vs. theoretical probability. This is a math enrichment exercise that encourages conversation about why the numbers are falling as they are.
