Amnesty International USA is a conscience-raising organization dedicated to human rights. Although its goals are lofty be aware that the site may make some people uncomfortable as they read stories of mankind's inhumanity. But, despite that, this is an excellent site for students to raise their awareness of the global village concept. The organization offers many ways for concerned citizens to get involved in the solution. There is also a Youth section that encourages student action and involvement. Be aware that this Organization has its own definite viewpoints that may not be shared by all. However, it presents issues that would make excellent topics for debate and discussion.
