We all like to give directions, but how precise and effective are they? This lesson plan asks students to learn how to be clear and concise in giving instructions to complete a complex task. Included are two handouts that show students how to format their directions by showing them step by step how to draw a cat’s or dog’s head. The instructions for the teacher for the learning activities are clear, questions are provided for students to think about, and in the end, students learn to think about how they express themselves, and how they solve problems.
