The Mannahatta Project, is an effort to show what the ecology of Manhattan was once like and how it has changed from forests full of animal habitats to a habitat mainly for people. There is an interactive map to view changes in specific locations and plenty of links to learn about the science behind the project. Includes resouirces for teachers, students and resaearchers, and many lesson plans that may be adapted for those outside of New York.
