PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT - Logitech Reach ‘Checks All The Boxes’ To Support Learning
Logitech Reach offers a plug-and-play experience over USB-C and can be used with most computers and conferencing or streaming platforms

Logitech Reach is a flexible, intuitive camera that lets you teach without limits. Easy, one-hand flexibility allows educators to move vertically, horizontally, and in a full 360° rotation. Move the camera around non-digital content to express your point of view without disrupting the flow of learning, giving every student a front-row seat. Reach allows educators to teach freely, creatively and easily.
Developed in collaboration with teachers, Reach is specifically engineered to suit educational use cases to bring analog content to life. Combine horizontal and vertical movements with the camera’s pivoting head, and seamlessly switch between table and presenter view to create novel vantage points and share your perspective with ease. Featuring base mount and clamp mount options, Logitech Reach offers a plug and play experience over USB-C and can be used with most computers and conferencing or streaming platforms, so educators can have confidence that the camera “just works.”
“We cobbled together multiple setups along the way,” says Dr. Lavanya Jawaharlal, president and co-founder of STEM Center USA. “From stacking books with an iPhone on top to testing out various document cameras and webcams, I felt like we tried it all.”
Once she tried Reach, however, Jawaharlal says it is “literally one of those products that checks all the boxes. It genuinely addresses the needs in educational tech that promotes the best interests for learning for students.“
Reach: Intuitive Controls Compatible with AI Tools
Reach is being used to showcase 3D objects from every angle. Unlike traditional document cameras, Logitech Reach uses intuitive pan, tilt, and zoom controls with vertical and horizontal sliders, as well as a pivoting camera.
Reach operates as a camera with video-based AI tools, and is compatible with a wide range of devices, including iPads, Chromebooks, and most computers. Teachers can pair Reach with AI platforms designed for live camera sharing to expand learning. For example, students can explore animal life cycles during biology lessons. By focusing the camera on a caterpillar or chrysalis, the AI can identify the species, explain its metamorphosis stages, and provide insights on habitat and behavior, deepening students’ understanding of transformation in nature.
With its flexible point-of-view capabilities, Logitech Reach also takes hands-on lessons to the next level by offering students an up-close, immersive perspective that standard tools simply can’t match.
Traditional document cameras do not allow for seamless transitions or demonstrations of classroom materials, and are limited to documents. As an adjustable content camera, Reach saves educators valuable time in the classroom, through maintaining student focus and engagement, reducing disruptions of lesson flow, and enabling students to clearly see materials regardless of where they’re seated in the classroom.
Additionally, educators are no longer bound to sharing documents and interacting with content ranging from detailed materials to multiple objects in one frame. To maintain camera orientation during the movement of demonstrating multiple objects, educators can use the yellow indicator on Reach. The camera ring will keep its position and maintain correct camera orientation. The camera ring can rotate 180º in either direction.
Reach Limits Classroom Interruptions
Prior to the introduction of Logitech Reach, teachers tried everything they could to effectively share physical objects in a digital space. Logitech found that educators were experiencing challenges in sharing analog content digitally. Teachers were forced to accept the limitations of existing setups, piece together multiple products, or use sophisticated tools.
What’s more, in a recent EdWeek Research Center study, Logitech discovered that 95% of teachers stop instruction because of students not being able to hear or see. Repeating instructions and demonstrations cuts into learning time and makes it harder for teachers to regain students’ attention after each interruption.
Reach solves this problem by making it easy for educators to share non-digital content with their students, keeping everyone focused on learning, regardless of their learning environment. It allows teachers to easily express their point of view without disrupting the flow of learning.
3 Reasons To Love Logitech Reach
1. It reduces lesson disruptions: “My old traditional document camera doesn’t autofocus, and in the middle of the lesson that’s not a disruption you want. With Reach, you can just pick up the paper and it just works,” says one teacher. Another mentions that Reach is “much faster” and causes fewer unnecessary breaks during the lesson.
2. It’s easy to use and provides a clear image: “The mobility of Reach was really great and easy, making transitions smooth and simple,” says a teacher. “Unlike other solutions, the reflectiveness on paper and light isn’t an issue and students can easily see and are not disrupted.”
Another teacher adds, “Student work displayed on the board in a clear manner, instead of a blurry manner, can have a great impact in student engagement.”
3. Students love it: “The kids asked me to use Reach instead of the traditional document camera” says a teacher, because they preferred the visuals Reach provided.
