The Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence: Best of 2025 awards celebrate educational technology from the last 12 months that has excelled in supporting teachers, students, and education professionals. Whether focused on classroom instruction, professional development, or the management of education resources, these winning solutions made a significant impact. Nominated products were divided into three categories: Primary, Secondary, and Higher Education.

Tech & Learning's panel of expert judges evaluated each nominated product based on perceived: Data Privacy & Governance, Integration & Interoperability, and Outcomes & Impact. Only those products that scored highly across these criteria were named winners.

“We saw an explosion of innovation in educational technology in 2025, and these nominated products represent the best of the best,” says Christine Weiser, Content Director for Tech & Learning. “Our judges were impressed with the breadth of these winning products that empower deeper learning, personalized experiences, and student engagement. Congratulations to the winners!”

PRIMARY WINNERS

+PlusOut!! Battle Points STEM Game

"This is an old school response to number sense—analog games. I love this approach as it is an engaging game that is a reward for the math classroom. As a former teacher, I found existing games that could fit the needs of number sense, but this is specifically designed for that purpose—it's not a repurposed game."

3P Learning, Mathletics

"As a complement to core math instruction, Mathletics provides a variety of engaging learning opportunities for students. In our classrooms, it works well for practice, reinforcement, and motivation, giving teachers flexibility to support different learners without trying to replace the core curriculum."

3P Learning, Reading Eggs

"The goal of Reading Eggs matches the literacy goals of schools—independent, confident readers by 3rd grade. The evidence of impact in Reading Eggs is impressive, and it is a great tool for a teacher to use in engaging reading activities for beginning or struggling readers in grades K–3."

95 Percent Group, Tier 1 Phonics Solution

95 Percent Group, Tier 2 Phonics Solution

"Literacy is at the forefront of education, and the need for HQIM literacy tools that adhere to the science of reading is a high priority for districts. 95 Tier 2 Phonics Solution is an intervention program and library to help support those who need assistance beyond Tier 1 instruction."

95 Percent Group, Tier 3 Literacy Solution

"What I like about 95 Tier 3 Literacy Solution is that it is teacher-led. While it uses digital tools to assess and give recommended next steps, it is not a computer program to set in front of a student. It recognizes the important role the expert teacher has in Tier 3 interventions."

AB Studios: AI-Supported Planning and Story-Driven Learning for Afterschool

"For a growing market, before- and after-school programs, AB Studios is a welcome addition. It gives staff flexible, ready-to-use experiences that keep students engaged and creative without feeling like an extension of the school day, which is especially valuable in spaces with limited time and staffing."

Acer Chromebook R857TN

"Our students respond positively to the Acer Chromebook, and from a technology department perspective, we’ve found the devices to be durable, reliable, and easy to repair. The time frame is appealing—30 minutes for the whole benchmark, and 10–15 minutes for the domain-specific assessments. mClass also provides a beginning-of-the-year benchmark screener to show grade-level readiness and next steps in instruction."

Furthermore, the audio out jack allows sharing audio from one source, which helps with group work."

"A Chromebook reseller selling their own product is smart. Chromebooks are easily produced and deployed in education. Bluum has taken on the responsibility of both production and support of a product of their own making. Districts can purchase devices as well as have a service and repair contract in place using the manufacturer."

"HeyTutor feels like a strong 'whole-package' tutoring partner: consistent in-person tutors, standards-aligned curriculum, and a usable dashboard so districts can both support students day-to-day and show progress. The big upside is scalable high-dosage tutoring with clear outcome signals, while the main diligence is confirming the depth of its privacy terms and integrations."

MagicSchool AI

"MagicSchool is a strong AI platform with clear value for K–12 educators, especially at the elementary level. From a user perspective, it requires significant district input and guidance to make the tools truly customizable and practical for teachers. While promising, it feels less immediately ready for secondary classrooms without additional setup and support."

Though it lacks software usage analytics, it's easy to deploy, has a low privacy risk, and can offer a fast ROI."

MIND Education, ST Math: See Math. Learn Math. Know Math.

"I’ve seen how ST Math uses images and puzzles to fundamentally change how students think about math. The visual, non-language-dependent approach strengthens math reasoning by pushing students to make sense of concepts before procedures. What stands out most is how the puzzles create equitable access to learning while building deep, transferable understanding."

MobyMax Education, LLC, MobyMax

"If you are looking at a platform that offers curriculum resources, assessments, and differentiated technology learning tools, MobyMax is a trusted name. It is ideal for a district that is using three tools in different platforms and looking for simplicity and to slim down the support needs of platforms."

Teachers' Curriculum Institute (TCI), TCI's Elementary Social Studies Programs

"Social Studies Alive! feels like the kind of elementary social studies that keeps kids doing inquiry projects, primary sources, and real discussion, instead of just memorizing dates and definitions.
