Dropping jelly-covered toast off a table onto the floor? What a great way to reinforce ideas of problem-solving! This is a cooperative learning lesson that requires students to use the scientific method to explain how the natural world works. This experiment emphasizes the 4-P approach to problem solving. This includes posing, predicting, probing, and persuasion. The biggest problem with this exercise is choosing who is going to do the clean-up.
