This is a media-rich site that explores the life of the Buddha and the role Buddhist art plays in teaching wisdom, telling stories, expressing emotion, and encouraging meditation. It includes many interactive images of the Buddha and of Buddhist deities, holy men, and bodhisattvas. There is additional information on Buddhist holy places and Buddhist symbols and motifs plus an interactive map that illustrates the spread of Buddhism and a timeline of the life of the Buddha.
