Writing Fix is a site sponsored by the Northern Nevada Writing Project. Part of this site includes lessons inspired by using the iPod as a resource. This lesson is three-pronged. Primarily your students are tasked with developing a poem or paragraph that persuades the audience to pay attention. Using Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are A-Changing” as the model, students write a persuasive piece about something they see that needs to be changed and how to go about that. The lesson includes the focus trait of idea development, and the support trait of voice.
