You’re the Storyteller: The Surprise

Are you looking for an app to help your students increase their ability to draw inferences using picture clues and written expressive language? This app can assist.

You're the Storyteller-The Surprise- HD $3.99 The Surprise is an engaging app that allows students to independently add their own story components, using built-in challenge words and the chance to tell their own story. The app includes eight chapters with a quick non- audio animated clip. At the end of the clip, students can either keyboard or narrate their thoughts. Questions are given to guide the student with their answers. Included is an information sheet to help therapists, teachers and parents most effectively use the app. If you're a teacher in a one-iPad classroom, this app is a great way to help students learn story writing, expressive language and collaboration. As a special education teacher working with developmentally disabled high school students, I have used this app to improve students' “wh” question responses and understand body language.
