Effectively Reach ALL Students

10/23/2011 12:00:00 AM
In recognition of National Disability Awareness Month, Atomic Learning is showcasing the Accessibility: It IS Important workshop and is offering it at no cost for a limited time.
This online workshop walks users through the basics of accessibility. It begins by covering the reasoning behind creating accessible materials in addition to legal issues.  Participants taking advantage of this workshop will also see examples of what accessible materials look like and learn about the individuals who benefit from them the most.   Finally, common tools that individuals with disabilities may use to access materials will be discussed along with tips on what educators can do to make sure their materials are accessible.
Every educator impacts students, but are they able to effectively reach ALL their students? Anyone working with students with disabilities who fail to provide accessible instruction and materials is inadvertently building barriers to learning. Take the pledge to create accessible instruction today.
