The World of Beverly Cleary

4/12/2013 7:18:00 PM
Although Drop Everything And Read Day is April 12, celebrate it all month long with the resources available on this site honoring the beloved children’s author, Beverly Cleary. Find a letter from Ramona Quimby herself explaining the background of D.E.A.R. There is a teacher’s guide with brief summaries of the eight Ramona books, suggestions on how to use the books in the classroom, extension activities in art, drama, spelling, and creative writing, and an interview with the birthday girl herself, Beverly Cleary. The D.E.A.R activities correspond with common-core standards and are easy to use in class. You can also find a book list of other books by Beverly Cleary.
