Bodie Marx Joins School Specialty as General Manager of Science

Education Industry Veteran Brings 35 Years of Experience to New Leadership Role

GREENVILLE, Wis. – (October 29, 2013) – School Specialty, a leading distributor of innovative and proprietary products, programs and services to the education marketplace, today announced the appointment of Bodie Marx as General Manager of Science. Marx brings more than 35 years of experience in education to his new position leading this division where he is responsible for the company’s hands-on, inquiry-based science education programs. This includes FOSS, Delta Science Modules (DSM), Delta Science Content Readers, CPO Science, and Frey Scientific.

With the debut of the Next Generation Science Standards and the overall transformation of publishing, School Specialty is particularly excited to have Bodie join our team as the new leader of this important curriculum division,” said Rick Holden, Executive Vice President of School Specialty and President of School Specialty Curriculum. “He brings outstanding leadership abilities and thoughtful innovation to his new role with our company.”

Most recently, Marx was Senior Vice President of Time to Know Initiative, an innovative digital teaching platform company within McGraw-Hill School Publishing. Prior to that, he held senior leadership positions at McGraw-Hill School Publishing, Siboney Learning Group, PlayBac Publishing and Scott Foresman. In these roles, he successfully led start-up, turn-around, strategic growth and consolidation initiatives.
