Southern Cal Online School Opens

Online learning provider Advanced Academics, Inc. is partnering with Golden Valley Charter School, Juan Bautista de Anza Online School and the ARA Pivot Charter School to form the SoCal Online School Network, a group of rigorous, high-quality online programs available tuition-free to area students in grades 6-12. Students will be able to earn their California high school diploma completely online or in a classroom environment with teachers and an online curriculum.

The SoCal Online School Network offers online programs for home-schooled students, advanced learners looking for a head start on college, students with health or physical challenges, those needing a flexible schedule in order to work or pursue outside interests and many others. The full-time online programs comply with all California graduation requirements and offer a full middle and high school curriculum, including core, elective and college preparatory courses.

SoCal Online School Network is open to students who live in Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino, Imperial, Kern, Riverside and Santa Barbara counties. New full-time students may qualify to receive a free laptop computer and an Internet stipend to help them complete their studies.

The SoCal Online School Network offers students a high level of support through certified instructors, student achievement coordinators and 24/7 technical support. Live teachers are available via chat, e-mail or phone from 4 a.m. until 10 p.m. each weekday. All teachers hold bachelor’s or master's degrees in their subject area, are state certified and have significant online and traditional classroom experience. Parents can easily communicate with instructors via phone, e-mail or instant messaging and can view real-time snapshots of their child’s academic progress.

The student enrollment process begins August 6, and classes start between August 24 and September 18. For more information, call 1-888-704-5498 or go to www.socalonlineschool.com.
