This week Internet security vendor SmoothWall is issuing an update to its K12 school district and higher education customers to allow them to use SmoothWall Guardian web filters to block the auto-suggest feature on popular search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask and YouTube. Some consider search-suggest to be inappropriate in environments where the web is filtered because suggestions can encourage time wasting - and may be offensive or unsavory as well.
