Discover "E" Educator Recognition Awards accepting nominations

Nominations are now open for teachers to be considered for Engineers Week’s new DiscoverE Educator Recognition Award Program. Nominations will be accepted through Dec.1, 2011, and winners will be announced at the 2012 Engineers Week DiscoverE Summit in Washington, DC, on February 22nd.Teacher nominees must be full-time U.S. or international school-based educators teaching in grades 6-12 and they must be nominated by an engineer or engineering student (college or graduate level).

Up to three educators each will receive a $2,000 cash prize, a digital projector from 3M and a trip to Washington, DC, during Engineers Week (Feb.19-25, 2012) to receive their awards and tell their stories to an audience of thought leaders at the 2012 EWeek DiscoverE Summit. Eight runners-up will receive $500 each, a 3M Shoot & Share camera, and a 3M gift pack.
