Today's Newsletter: Get Ready for Connected Ed
Are you ready for Connected Ed starting October 1? Of course you are! Last year, the DOE hosted daily online conversations about all things edtech. Read an executive summary here. This year, the event is being run under the auspices of interim director of edtech Richard Culatta, who recently spoke with our managing editor Christine Weiser at our most recent SchoolCIO Summit. The White House is participating this year with a Champions of Change event. Here’s the nut: “(To) celebrate local leaders in education, whose creative approaches in using technology to enhance learning serve as examples of what we should strive for in every classroom, for every child. These leaders will be invited to the White House to celebrate their accomplishments and showcase their actions to support more connected schools and students. Be sure to nominate yourself or some other deserving colleague by September 20th. We’ll be following along and reporting next month as well. —Kevin Hogan, Editorial Director
