A new portable microscope with rotating lens offers advanced digital enlargement and image capture features to classrooms and science instruction labs. The unit is almost pocket-size at 2.5 inches (65 mm) wide, 6 inches (157 mm) high and 1.5 inches (39 mm) deep.
The hand-held iLoupe XL magnifies from three to 300 times and has a 5.1-megapixel, high-resolution sensor for detailed images. The lens tube rotates 180 degrees to capture any angle. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery allows continuous operation for five hours or standby use for up to seven hours.
Applications include specimen analysis, lab demonstrations and slide presentations for courses in chemistry, biology, geology and environmental studies. It's also practical for college and post-graduate research documentation.
