Pearson Spotlight Sessions at ISTE 2014

The power of technology to transform teaching and learning will be the focus of two Pearson “Spotlight Sessions” at ISTE 2014 in Atlanta later this month.

In the first session on Sunday, June 29, “The Digital Oceans in Education,” Kristen DiCerbo, Ph.D., Principal Research Scientist at Pearson, will explore the opportunities that today’s educators have to use technology to understand learner activities in testing and non-testing environments. Using examples, such as SimCityEDU: Pollution Challenge!, DiCerbo will discuss new opportunities afforded by the “ocean” of digital data available from everyday learning activities.

On Monday, June 30, at the second session, “Power to the Teachers,” a panel of innovative educators will explore the power of technology to bring teaching and learning alive through an integrated system of rigorous tasks, social cognition, formative assessment and standards-based professional development. The session will showcase the Pearson System of Courses, a K-12 digital curriculum.
