Today's Newsletter: Countdown To Hour of Code

It will be year three for the Hour of Code campaign Dec. 7-13 and the idea seems to have turned into a full-fledged phenomenon. There are almost 100,000 events scheduled around the world with one-hour online tutorials available in over 40 languages. Here are just a few of the highlights: Microsoft’s Minecraft division created a programming tutorial aimed at learners aged six years and over that introduces the basics of coding within the Minecraft platform. Gamers are then given a set of 14 challenges to dig into the coding concepts they learned during the tutorial. A beginner, drag-and-drop version of the @StarWars#HourOfCode tutorial is available. And School Library Journal lists tips for media specialist. Should be a great week! —Kevin Hogan, Content Director
