Middle and high school principals working in schools serving large low-income or minority populations may apply for MetLife Foundation Bridge Builders' Grants, administered by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Twenty-five schools will receive $5,000 grants to support programs that focus on building better relationships between adults and students. Deadline: April 17, 2006

AVerMedia Technologies is sponsoring the AVerVision Document Camera Essay Contest, in which four educators will win document cameras for their classrooms or schools. Entrants write a 100- to 300-word essay explaining how a classroom would benefit from having a document camera and how it would be used. Deadline: April 28, 2006

Do you work with a student age 8 to 18 who is a primary leader in a service activity? Consider nominating this student for a Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes. Ten students receive $2,000 each, which may be applied to their higher education or service project. Deadline: April 30, 2006

CDW-G and Discovery Channel School are sponsoring the Win a Wireless Lab Sweepstakes. Employees of public or private schools in the United States may enter the sweepstakes to win a wireless computer lab or one of more than 30 additional technology prizes.
