 Are you an experienced school district technology director looking for a new challenge? If so, Blue Valley School District may want to speak with you. The district is searching for an Executive Director of Information Technology.

Located in Overland Park, KS, Blue Valley School District comprises over 30 schools serving 21,300 students, and is well equipped with advanced technology to support instruction and administrative functions.

Overland Park, rated as the #1 suburb in the greater metropolitan Kansas City area by the Kansas City Star, is a technologically sophisticated community where 98% of students have Internet access in their homes.

Position Overview
Responsibilities include establishing the mission, vision and multi-year plan for educational technology; managing IT educational data, network services and enterprise systems; ensuring that proper software, equipment, personnel and procedures are in place; evaluating the contribution of technology to student learning; and representing technology needs and plans to the Board of Education and community.

Desired Characteristics and Credentials
The ideal candidate will combine collaborative leadership, communication and management skills; a high level of technical expertise; post-graduate education in technology or a related field, and a record of success as a technology director in a large school system. A Kansas school administrator’s certificate is not required.

Compensation will be in the range of $130,000, including benefit package, with the actual compensation to be based on preparation and experience. The starting date is July 1, 2010 or by mutual agreement. Interested candidates can apply online at www.hyasupersearches.com.
