Newton Public Schools Selects IMS

Newton Public Schools, NJ, has selected Pearson’s Schoolnet for PowerSchool as its new web-based Instructional Management System (IMS). The district, with more than 1,550 students, selected Schoolnet for PowerSchool based on its comprehensive tools to manage student data, build and deliver assessments and lesson plans, and report on student achievement.

“Pearson’s Schoolnet for PowerSchool provides a solution that can help even smaller districts like ours address multiple needs today and raise our productivity," said Dr. G. Kennedy Greene, superintendent of Newton Public Schools. "Without having the resources for add-on applications requiring costly technical support, we still need to be able to analyze student data, improve curricular delivery, design standards-based assessments, and communicate results in real time.”

Schoolnet for PowerSchool brings together two of Pearson’s products to offer preconfigured tools that unify student management and instructional improvement activities. Newton Public Schools expect to complete the implementation of Schoolnet for PowerSchool by August, 2012, in time for start of school.
