Outstanding Education Technology Products Saluted

SAN BRUNO, CA (October 28, 2009) – Tech & Learning magazine today named 65 education technology products as winners in its prestigious 27-year-old recognition program. Honored software, hardware, network, and web products include innovative applications that break new ground as well as those that added significant enhancements to proven education tools. A panel of more than 30 educators, who tested more than 100 entries across the country, chose the winners.

“This year’s awards have grown to include new hardware and network categories,” says Kevin Hogan, Editorial Director for NewBay Media’s Tech & Learning Group. “Our judges, which include stalwarts such as our resident expert Joe Huber and the staff of Philadelphia’s Science Leadership Academy, put dozens of entries through their paces. To come out with their seal of approval is a testament to the product.”

Entries were divided into two categories: New Products and Best Upgraded Products. Winning selections include numerous Internet-based programs, as well as software for handheld devices and several document cameras and visual presenters. This was the first year hardware and network/server-based products were allowed into the contest. Among the high-quality offerings being honored are resources addressing management, safety, communication, differentiated learning, and other key areas in education.

Please join us in congratulating the 33 New Product winners of the 2009 Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence. Look for detailed descriptions and judges’ comments in the December 2009 Awards Issue.
