Virginia Beach City Public Schools Select Teacher Evaluation System

Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) has selected Netchemia LLC to provide its TalentEd Perform cloud-based teacher evaluation software.

VBCPS, among the largest school districts in the nation with nearly 70,000 students, sought to simplify the yearly evaluations and long-term data management of its nearly 5,000 teachers in response to Virginia’s new requirements, which took effect July 1.

The Virginia Department of Education’s guidelines include evaluating teachers across six professional practice domains and incorporating student achievement data.

“As Virginia reforms its performance evaluation requirements, divisions like Virginia Beach City Public Schools recognize the need for relevant, flexible and powerful evaluation and management tools,” said Carlos Antequera, CEO of Netchemia. “TalentEd Perform ensures that administrators and principals are able to effectively evaluate and manage data to maintain high K-12 education standards.”

VBCPS joins a list of 16 other Virginia school divisions that have adopted TalentEd Perform for their performance evaluation needs, including Roanoke City, Williamsburg-James City County, Washington County, Shenandoah County, Wise County, Smyth County, Wythe County, Russell County, Scott County, Winchester, Lee County, Greensville County, Alleghany County, Poquoson City, Nelson County and Cumberland County.
