Virginia DOE selects PD partner

Sublime Learning™ announces a new pilot program in the State of Virginia. Sublime Learning has been selected by Superintendent of Public Instruction, Patricia I. Wright, Virginia Department of Education, as its professional development partner to pilot just-in-time learning by fully integrating technology into instruction.

Sublime Learning’s eTeachables for Visual Learning and Interactive White Boards will offer Virginia’s ITRT support network professional development online videos that focus on software and hardware already widely available in Virginia schools.

Sublime Learning is providing a one-year subscription to each Virginia ITRT that includes:

· The eTeachables for Visual Learning library.

· The Inquiry-Based Learning for Interactive Whiteboards (IWB) library, which supports instruction around key questions or themes to offer educators problem-based K-8 teaching strategies.

General and differentiated instruction strategies are integrated in each professional development video, with easily downloadable Templates, Flipchart or Notebook files for classroom use. These tools support educators’ use of technology to incorporate existing software and IWB equipment while also increasing teacher capacity within the classroom.

“Professional development is a critical factor in the successful integration of technology and classroom instruction,” Dr. Wright said. “VDOE’s partnership with Sublime Learning will help our instructional technology resource teachers design engaging lessons and activities with clear objectives for each student.”
