There are always those emergencies when you can't make it in to work, but you, and even worse, your supervisor, realize that you haven't left a full day's work for the substitute. The author has prepared a complete resource for the beleaguered substitute teacher called in at 7:00 AM to face an unfamiliar class. Entries include Chalkboard Topics for the Talkers and the Bored, a collection of quizzes, puzzles, riddles, games, stories, topics for discussion, and topics for writing assignments. Do your substitute friend a favor and also put in your folder "Ideas for a Rookie" (or even a seasoned substitute).
