Brief Description of the Site:
Immaculate Heart of Mary High School, is located in Chicago, IL, and serves young women in grades 9-12. The school's Web site is designed and maintained by the technology coordinator, the librarian, the development office, and all faculty members. Each discipline is responsible for updating its own pages. The library site is a particularly well thought out resource for both faculty and students.
How to use the site:
Students regularly use the site for their daily work. Whenever research is required for an assignment, students begin by using links from the online library site that are up to date and specific to their needs. The site is also used to record and publicize all of the activities that take place at IHM. The calendar is easy to use and allows parents and others to quickly find any activity in which they are interested. Parents keep up with school events, parent group activities, and other news via the web site. The alumnae have a section just for them where they can find news about each other and the school.
Note: School Site of the Week runs every Friday in this space. Submit your favorite school Web site to coordinator Susan Brooks-Young at Sjbrooks@aol.com.
