BOSTON(May 28, 2015) – Quick Key, the mobile assessment software that improves student performance and eliminates hand grading, has reached 1 million assessments scanned. By using formative assessments to measure a students’ progress, Quick Key minimizes time spent grading assessments and gives educators more time to focus on student instruction, growth and achievement.

“Our mission is to enable district administrators, teachers and students to get rapid feedback from the assessments they already do while spending less time doing them, turning every assessment into a blueprint for personalized learning,” said Walter O. Duncan, co-founder of Quick Key. “Hitting 1 million quizzes scans is a testament to our teacher-users and how much they believe in digital grading.”

In August of 2013, Duncan, a veteran K-12 teacher and entrepreneur, founded Quick Key to make effortless digital assessment accessible to every educator, regardless of student devices and Wi-Fi. Quick Key is an app that scans the oval bubbles on students’ quiz sheets, tallies the data, and sends the scores into a digital grade book. Duane Hanson, mathematics teacher at Central Middle School in East Grad Forks, Minnesota was the educator who scanned the millionth quiz with Quick Key.

“I just started using Quick Key recently, and I found it very beneficial for providing instant feedback,” Hanson said. “My students and I both love being able to see their results instantly, right at their desks. As a teacher with 41 years in the classroom, I can also attest to the fact that you don’t need to build your lesson around Quick Key. It makes any lesson more fun, more engaging, and more effective. Also, I am looking forward to next year using Quick Key’s digital assessment tools, since student devices are becoming more prevalent in my school.”

Quick Key free offers educators up to four quizzes a month for an unlimited amount of students. Available for monthly or yearly subscriptions, Quick Key Pro allows unlimited digital and scanned paper quizzing plus integration with Pearson PowerSchool and compatibility with the Chrome App.
