Created by a group of concerned parents, the cloud-based platform provides one-click purchasing with no software or technical integration required

Fairfield, IA (October 22, 2015)k-Purchase is proud to offer its 3-in-1 purchasing solution to K-12 districts at no cost. The cloud-based platform requires no software or technical integration, and a QuickStart Advantage feature gets staff up and running with minimal time and disruption.

The first component of the k-Purchase Solution is a requisition and ordering system customized to each school’s management process and to district rules. The system creates purchase orders, automatically places orders with vendors, shares data with accounting software, and provides analytic dashboards to help schools track their spending. The combination of efficiency and control saves staff members time and allows them to pay invoices with confidence.

The k-Purchase Solution also includes a school-specific Marketplace that gives staff an alternative to spending hours searching for items online, in catalogs, and over the phone. The Marketplace uses a familiar e-commerce format that helps staff find products and prices, benefit from targeted savings and offers, and learn about vendors. Once they find what they need, they add it to a purchase requisition with a single click. The Marketplace currently includes more than 45,000 items, including commonly purchased merchandise at discounted prices.

The third element of the solution is the Purchasing Advocate. Each school using k-Purchase is assigned an Advocate who customizes k-Purchase to the school’s requirements, trains staff, and provides ongoing support. The Advocate will also work with staff to understand their purchasing needs, find new vendors, and negotiate pricing.

“Our message to districts is very simple: we invest in you, so your staff has more time and money to invest in educating your students,” said Paul Tarnoff, the CEO of k-Purchase. “Everything about k-Purchase is designed to easily and seamlessly fit right into any district’s operations.”

Schools using the k-Purchase solution have improved their workflow efficiency more than 75%. This translates to more than 9,000 hours and $300,000 in savings for the average 2,500-student district. This is the equivalent of gaining five new employees at no cost.
