Flipped Learning Network Modifies Structure to Create Community-Driven Hub

Flipped Learning Network (@flippedlearning) announces a transition to a facilitated network focused on professional development for Flipped Learning practitioners. As a part of the change, Flipped Learning Network will move from annual events to continual growth opportunities, hosting its last annual Flipped Learning Conference (FlipCon) on July 19-21 in Allen, Texas. Organization hosts final national conference as it transitions to a facilitated network with continual professional development opportunities

South Bend, Ind. (July 12, 2016) – The Flipped Learning Network (FLN) announces a transition in its organization structure to a community-driven hub dedicated to sharing best practices. As it grows, FLN will utilize the body of knowledge within the organization by offering a facilitated network centered on professional development.

“Since its inception four years ago, FLN has been fueled by passionate educators,” said Kelly Walsh, FLN Community Administrator. “Flipped instruction is a grassroots movement with incredible momentum. With its new structure, the network will be able to better serve its community of practitioners.”

The FLN was established in 2012 to connect educators, provide best practices and share the benefits of Flipped Learning through events and training. 

As part of its transition into a facilitated network, FLN will move from annual events to continual growth opportunities, occurring throughout the year. This year will mark the last annual Flipped Learning Conference (FlipCon). FlipCon will be held July 19-21 in Allen, Texas. Dr. Tyler DeWitt is the keynote speaker. To counter common misconceptions and bring clarity to discussions about “Flipped Learning,” the governing board and key leaders of the Flipped Learning Network (FLN) announce a formal definition of the term. FLN also announces the Four Pillars of F-L-I-P™ and a checklist of 11 supporting indicators that educators must incorporate into their practice. The definition draws a distinction between Flipped Learning and a Flipped Classroom.

Flipped Learning Network Announces Program for 7th Annual Conference

Washington, D.C. (Feb. 19, 2014) – The 7th Annual Flipped Conference is scheduled for June 23-25 at Mars Area High School near Pittsburgh, Pa., and worldwide through the FlipCon14 Virtual Conference live stream. This year’s agenda includes three plenary sessions, including panels with K-12 “flipped” parents/students and instructors in higher education; six featured speakers; 48 concurrent sessions; 12 showcases and learning lounges for help desks and small focus groups.
