NEW YORK – July 28, 2016Pearson will show thousands of psychologists and psychology students the ways that digital solutions can transform their practices and their clients’ lives at the 2016 American Psychological Association (APA) Conference, August 4-7, in Denver.Through workshops, presentations and exhibits, the company will highlight its innovative solutions for helping psychologists make informed decisions.

As part of its overall commitment to the growth and development of the psychology profession, Pearson is a silver sponsor of the 2016 APA conference, supporting numerous awards and conference events. For example, Pearson is the sponsor of APA’s mini conference for police and public safety psychology practice, The Psychological Footprint of Mass Casualty and Intense Traumatic Events on Victims, Responders and the Larger Community: Opportunities and Challenges for Police & Public Safety Psychology, on Wednesday, August 3, at Strum Hall at the University of Denver.

Another activity that Pearson is sponsoring is the APA Running Psychologist’s 38th Annual Ray’s Race 5K Run/Walk in support of psychology’s efforts to improve areas of research in the multidisciplinary fields spanning psychology, sport science and medicine.

In partnership with APA Divisions 5, 12, 4, and the Association of Test Publishers, Pearson awarded three students with Assessment Awards for outstanding achievement in research on assessment. This year’s winners are Paula Andrea Aduen, clinical psychology doctoral candidate, University of Virginia, Charlottesville; Tawny Jen Meredith-Duliba, master of science candidate, cognitive neuroscience/neuropsychology, Drexel University, Philadelphia; and Colleen Phillips, doctoral student, clinical psychology - ‎Fresno City College, California. They will present their research findings in poster sessions at APA 2016.

Pearson also supports the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities/Autism Spectrum Disorder Edgar A. Doll Award recognizing outstanding contributions throughout their careers. This year’s scholarship winner is Dr. Michael F. Cataldo, Kennedy Krieger Institute. He will present, Change, on Friday August 5, 9-9:50 am, Colorado Convention Center, Room 303. Also sponsored by Pearson, the Sara Sparrow scholarship recognizing early career achievements was awarded to Dr. Abbey Eisenhower, University of Massachusetts, Boston. She will present, From Screening to Schooling: Maximizing the Benefit for Children with ASD, on Saturday August 6, 10-10:50 am, Colorado Convention Center, Exhibit Hall ABC, Level 1.
