Already winning raves on the iTunes Store for being “addictive” and “brilliant,” the app includes an Interactive Physical Science Glossary that provides sound review and is a dynamic study tool for learning physical science terminology and content. To support the study of matter, energy and change, this excellent reference tool contains a master glossary of 97 physical science terms, presented through simulations, video, audio and flash cards. The glossary presentation is geared toward middle and high school students and appeals to a wide range of learning styles. The Physical Science app’s topics are:

· Energy & Systems

· Force & Motion

· Electricity & Magnetism

· Matter & Energy

· Light & Optics

· Sound & Waves

"We believe that one of the best ways to learn is with engaging and interactive content. Our new Physical Science app is one more way that we are providing educators with products that make science come alive for students,” said Mike Lavelle, president & CEO of School Specialty. "We are excited by the overwhelmingly positive response the app has already received and are focused on continuing to develop learning tools that present concepts in a way that gets students excited about science.”

Physical Science is the first in a series of iPad apps from CPO Science with future plans for Earth Science and Life Science apps.

The glossary apps complement CPO Science’s core curriculum programs in life, earth, and physical science. These programs feature an integrated set of materials for inquiry-based science centered on active investigation. Through exciting hands-on investigations, text, videos, and simulations, students have what they need to grasp concepts, analyze, reason, and communicate their ideas effectively.
