Class Tech Tips: Plum’s Creaturizer from PBS for Elementary Story Prompts

Helping students find inspiration is an important role of teachers in elementary English Language Arts classrooms. Students might explore books that they love or bring in photographs from home as they search for story ideas. Another way for students to find inspiration for their writing or storytelling is to use pictures and prompts.

Plum’s Creaturizer from PBS Kids lets students create their own creatures. They can snap pictures of the outdoors to show where their creature might live and complete missions. This app pushes students to think about what type of habitat their creature might live and details about their lives. It’s a great tool for pushing students to be creative and tell stories to one another.
