Texas board approves digital physics, chemistry courses

CompassLearning has announced that the Texas State Board of Education approved CompassLearning Odyssey® Texas Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC) and CompassLearning Odyssey Texas Physics as part of the State Supplemental Science Adoption. This provides Texas high school teachers with digital curriculum that not only covers the new objectives that were adopted by the Texas State Board of Education in 2009 but also provides newly developed, full-course online content for all objectives in IPC and Physics.

CompassLearning Odyssey Texas IPC and CompassLearning Odyssey Texas Physics provide science content that Texas educators can search by Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), topic, or keyword to create customized lesson plans and assessments.

Each course includes assessment, instruction, and data management components and can be used as a stand-alone course or as a supplement to currently adopted materials. Materials can be segmented and re-ordered to align with district pacing guides. All materials needed to meet course specifications are included in the online core content.

Each CompassLearning science course provides a minimum of 150 hours of instruction covering the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills requirements, including the new and expanded TEKS adopted in March 2009.
