The Pokémon Go Hysteria

The Pokémon Go Hysteria

Do I have to write about it? OK, I guess I do. The Pokémon Go hysteria, while quite silly in many ways, is also a genuine harbinger of augmented reality in the edtech space. I had the pleasure last month at ISTE to interview Jo Webb, from Pearson’s Immersive Learning Lab, who detailed some amazing examples of augmented reality being used to learn both in and out of the classroom. Little did we know that just days later people would be chasing imaginary creatures into traffic; Just another example of how technology may give us new opportunities, but doesn’t necessarily make us smarter.
