Today's Newsletter: Anybody Want to Read Some Good News?

I found some items this weekend in the Tech&Learning newsfeed to be happy about! USNews profiles the winners of this year’s Student of Vision ABIE Award, which is “given to an undergraduate or graduate student with a vision of how technology can be applied to solving problems and how including more women in the field contributes to innovation.” Marc Tucker blogs about a new vision for enabling schools through tech: “The wrong question to ask, in my estimation, is what courses should be taught…The right question is what sort of experiences this young person needs to have in order to develop…The emphasis needs to be on learning, not teaching.” Finally, UNESCO and the US-based Association for Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) signed an agreement on 10 November to “use science centers and science museums as platforms to communicate sustainable goals (SDGs) through the organisation of ad-hoc events on local, regional, and international levels”, during a meeting in UNESCO headquarters, as part of the commemorations of the first International Day for Science Centers and Museums (IDSCM). —Kevin Hogan, Content Director
