Now that House Bill H.R.610 has been introduced, new questions arise regarding the White House’s push toward school choice. Will more choice mean more innovation? We explored that question at a focus group conversation in DC last December, where Discovery’s Marty Creel said: “If I’m a school administrator, I’m going to differentiate my school from the others and looking at innovative technologies may be a way that I can really differentiate myself as a school.” At our recent SchoolCIO Summit, panelist Bryant Wong of the Summit Public Schools discussed their efforts to make their free personalized learning platform available to any school—public, private, or charter. Lisa Nielsen reports on a debate hosted by Intelligence Squared, that questions some of the claims about charter schools. It’s not always easy to sort fact from passion in this debate, so we’d like to hear your thoughts.
