Today's Newsletter: Getting Personal Over Personalized Learning

It’s not all wine and roses here in the Tech&Learning newsfeed. Sometimes it's important to dig deep into conflicting analysis on what otherwise appears to be promising techniques in classrooms. This weekend’s reading led us to this American Spectator piece that extracts from this report compiled by The National Education Policy Center at the University of Colorado. Their words: "This year’s 19th annual report on schoolhouse commercialism trends examines how technological advances, the lure of "personalization," and lax regulation foster the collection of personal data and have overwhelmed efforts to protect children’s privacy." Still working my way through but there are certainly points appropriate for debate. —Kevin Hogan, Content Director
